Better loud than too late

Not sure how high the volume will be on this post, but better late than never for sure! I have been horribly remiss in providing updates, but I'm happy to finally share a few new things.

The first is a drawing I completed last week, inspired by the song, "Amongst the Waves" by Pearl Jam. I tried to capture the soaring quality of the music and lyrics, and it is a song that has resonated deeply with me over the past few months. To say they have been difficult is an understatement. Hearing this song on the new album, and experiencing it live really brought it home to me...how one can rise above, get through the rough times. Also how important it is to appreciate the love of family and friends who guide me through.

"If not for love, I would be drowning"

How true is that?

And, in my eagerness to start a brand new year already, I have revamped my Zodiac calendar from last year, and am also offering a new calendar which focuses on my Seasons series. Both are available printed and ready to go, or as PDF printables for the DIY crowd, in my Etsy shop. Come take a look!

I am also working on a Pearl Jam-inspired calendar, should have that up in the next few days, after I finish up some logo work for a client. Stay tuned!

Here's a version of the song I was lucky enough to witness in San Diego in October...the verse where it starts rings so true. Enjoy :)

My Zodiac Series

I wanted to take a moment to share a series that I had created last year. It was unveiled at my first exhibition at the Cerrito Theater last November. Have been thinking about it I guess since my birthday was last week (hence the crustacean choice above!).

After working on my seasons series, I thought it would be fun to create a set of zodiac signs, with my own particular style.

I had a great time drawing these, some plotted on their respective constellation, and uniting the 4 elements by color. It gave me a challenge to work within self-defined constraints.

You can view them at my website and also at my Etsy shop. They are all available for purchase as prints (I have 4x6 and 8x10 prints listed, but can also do custom 5x7 prints). I also offer custom prints with different colors, to match any taste and decor.

Still thinking of another series to tackle, beyond the Pearl Jam song inspired drawings Tarot cards might be interesting. If you have suggestions for series, I'd love to hear them!
